Trip to the Frank Kanton by Alexander Spack in May 2009

147. Freidorf

Location of the Volga German village of Freidorf.

The Freidorf settlement was started in the 1930s after the establishment of the Thälmann collective farm here. After the local German population was deported in 1941, people from other regions of the Societ Union settled here. They changed the village's name to Thälmann. The settlement seized to exist in the 1950s or 1960s.
